EFFECTIVE DEEP TISSUE DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE PAINFUL
I remember my introduction to Deep Tissue course in school. My instructor told our class that if we spent an entire session using maximum force and pressure for an hour, we weren't practicing deep tissue but rather excessive force and punishment. She warned us that the old-fashioned mindset of "no pain, no gain" didn't hold water when it comes to the effective release and relaxation of the deeper tissues of the body. This is not to say that deep tissue is always painless, but it's not always painful either. Believe it or not, getting to the deepest layers of muscle in the body requires that you relax and release the top layers first. Seems like common sense, but unfortunately, its not common practice. Trust is a necessary component of successful DT work and you can trust that we are armed with the knowledge of proper deep tissue technique, as well as aware of when deep tissue is the best method of approach for our clients. We pride ourselves on our ability to help you, not hurt you.
